The evenings are different
Autumn is arriving
I am starting to see shifts.
Changes.
Subtle ones.
But they are there for those who look.
In the swirling of your evening rhythm you might notice that the light is fading earlier. It whispers away just a fraction before it was, and in its place a deeper kind of darkness is finding its way.
The light is somehow, just, different. Less bright. Softer. Gentler.
Along with this shifting l’ve noticed the mood in our house has too — it’s responding to the change. We’ve been able to light the candle with dinner for a couple of nights in a row because the light is not quite so bright, and while we still head outside after dinner, the pace seems a tad slower.
Maybe you’ve noticed the mornings too?
Perhaps that sunrise is peeking through the curtains a little later and the darkness of dawn is stretching just a little longer. We are actually sleeping with our curtains open at the moment and it’s so lovely.
My toddler has certainly noticed; or, at least her body has. She is sleeping in slightly in rhythm with the light and weather change, and rather than bounding from the bed like a rabbit on the run, she is much slower. Asking to snuggle and enjoying this difference. So am l!
You might like to light a candle with dinner tonight, or with breaky if you are up before the sun, in recognition of the seasonal shifting that is beginning.
What have you noticed that is changing?
Warmest,
Rachel x
